Kingston's Journey
Our little warrior’s name is Kingston
Kingston was born on the 21st of February 2024. He was a sickly baby and was always at the hospital due to recurrent infections.
On September 2024, Kingston was diagnosed with JMML (juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia). It is a rare form of chronic leukaemia that affects children. It affects 1-2 children per 1 million annually and the only cure is bone marrow transplant. Our world shattered and changed from that moment.
Luckily, we caught it early on and Kingston matched with his brave big brother, Kyrie. He had bone marrow transplant in December 2024 and had to stay in the hospital for more than 55 days because he basically had no immune system. We were in and out of hospital from then on due to frequent infections and complications.
We went back home to Wollongong in May but unfortunately, he relapsed in June.
Kingston is currently having chemotherapy to hopefully reduce the cancer cells in the marrow and get his body ready for another transplant early next year.
We know how tough life is at the moment but any amount, big or small, even just prayers will greatly help our family during this difficult time.
We thank you in advance for the love and support you will give Kingston.
May you have a lovely Christmas Holiday.
Kind Regards,
Steven, Angel, Kyrie and Kingston
